Xtra Chalet Le Dome, Tignes
The Le Dôme is an ‘Xtra Chalet’ – giving you all the benefits of one of a chalet, but enhanced by some added extras, run by friendly and helpful in-house staff.
Le Dôme is a comfortable and excellent value Xtra Chalet, ideally located in the picturesque village of Tignes 1850.
Access to the skiing couldn’t be easier, as the main high-speed Boisses 8-person gondola, opened just two years ago, takes you straight to a choice of chairlifts - one up to the Aiguille Percée, and the other to the top of the Chaudannes slopes above Tignes Le Lac.
Or you can ski the leisurely blue down to Tignes Les Brevières and take the Sache cable-car up from there. You can also ski right back to the Chalet at the end of the day, and for access to the other Tignes villages of Le Lac and Val Claret, the free ski-bus runs until midnight.
Le Dôme’s en suite bedrooms all have a cosy, traditional feel and some do vary in size. The bar and lounge area have a log-burner and free Wi-Fi, making this the ideal place to relax, whether over afternoon tea or coffee and a nightcap at the end of the day.

Sister resort to Val d’Isere, Tignes brings altitude as well as attitude to this iconic pair of resorts. Together they form the world famous Espace Killy area, named after France’s best known Olympic Skier – Jean-Claude Killy. Thanks to its altitude Tignes has an unbeatable snow record and provides outstanding conditions for intermediate and expert skiers and boarders while still providing for beginners and improvers.
The resort consists of three main villages in the snow-bowl, all linked by an excellent and free, 24 hour bus service. At 2100m the highest village is Val Claret which has a superb position at the foot of the snow sure Grande Motte glacier. Le Lac and Le Lavachet have a cosier village feel to them with excellent access to the slopes.
All the villages have a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a lively, friendly buzz about them. Further down the mountain is Tignes 1850 and Les Brévières with their laidback atmospheres. There really is something for everyone in Tignes.
