Set in Slovenia’s Julian Alps, Kranjska Gora is a small, beautiful resort that’s perfect for younger families and for beginners to build confidence. Everything in the area is geared towards making your first ski experience as enjoyable as you always imagined - and it's excellent value too.
There’s a top-notch ski school run by english speaking professionals that specialise in developing students’ abilities, so you’ll be in safe hands as you master the basics. The village nursery slopes are ideal for beginners, with easy wide blue runs to build up your confidence, you'll be taking on the red runs in no time.
The mostly northeast facing slopes of the Vitranc Mountain are where skiing usually takes place. There are 30km of mainly intermediate slopes. Most of these pistes are broad glides cut through trees, but there are also some gentle and more open lower slopes for the less experienced skiers.
Advanced skiers should head up to the Podkoren mountain where you will find the more challenging pistes including the world cup slalom run.
