Igls (pronounced Eagles) is a small ski resort only 5km from Innsbruck which is 30 minutes away from the airport.
The Patscherkofel is the home mountain of Innsbruck, it has the perfect conditions for skiing, snowboarding and all other types of winter sports. The Varied terrain offers family-friendly slopes as well as challenging slopes for those ambitious athletes.
Non-Skiers can zoom down on the Olympic bobsleigh run or explore the nearby Tyrolean capital, Innsbruck, this authentic Austrian village provides beautiful scenery, historic architecture and friendly locals.
Beginners can find their feet on the nursery slopes near the village if you take the Patscherkofelbahn cable car it will take skiers to the top of the village to the main skiing area where there’s a selection of easy blues and reds. The two Family runs on the Patscherkofel to Panoramabahn and Olex are long, gentle blues popular with beginners.
Many of the pistes in Igls itself are suitable for intermediate skiers, but once you’ve perfected the 6 runs in Igls, venture out to the other resorts included in the Innsbruck Glacier Lift Pass.
Advanced skiers can explore 8 other ski areas on the same lift pass - totalling 295km of piste - including the nearby Stubai Glacier which reaches elevations of over 3000m and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.
