Ski holidays in Hochgurgl are ideal for beginners and intermediates, as well as skiers who appreciate un-crowded, wide open slopes and off-piste exploration. The ski terrain is not extensive here, but there is variety, perfect for mixed-ability groups.
Beginners are well catered for with the Mahdstuhl nursery slopes just below Obergurgl village.
The Wurmkogl area has an extensive choice for skiers who like long, spacious blue and red runs.
The area has some surprisingly good advanced skiing with a couple of thrilling, high-altitude black-run descents for more advanced skiers, including one particularly invigorating stretch that runs down from Wurmkogl at 3,082m.
A selection of restaurants offer a high standard of local specialities and international dishes. Apres ski is traditional and many of the bars have a great atmosphere at the end of the day. Also expect plenty of cafes and live music venues.
