Families will love the Hovi Cabins, which are set up to make your Norwegian ski holiday as simple as possible.
The cabins sleep up to six people. There’s one bedroom with Austrian twin beds for mum and dad, then a second bedroom with two sets of bunk beds – perfect for up to four children – plus loads of storage space, so you can properly settle in for the week.
From outside, the rustic-looking terraced cabins fit right into their natural surroundings. This feeling is maintained inside too, with lots of wood panelling and traditional furniture. There’s a lounge area with comfy sofas and a TV, plus the combination of under-floor heating and a wood-burning stove to keep everyone toasty.
There’s an outdoor patio, but in the winter you’re more likely to use the extending dining table. Cabins come with a kitchenette that features everything you need to be self-sufficient, including hobs, a mini-oven, kettle and dishwasher.
Breakfast, dinner and half-board upgrades are available at the nearby Hotel Bergo, while the Radisson Blu Resort will give guests access to its pool for the week at a small charge.
Literally opposite the cabins are shops, where you can grab everything from bread and milk to hats, gloves and thermal suits. The centre of Beitostølen is just a minute or two away, where you’ll find a nice selection of local restaurants for when you want a break from cooking. It only takes about five minutes to walk to the lifts and ski school meeting point – although in the right conditions you can ski right back to the cabins.
