Ski Resorts Open Early In the Alps

18 November 2016

Chamonix has seen over 2 metres of snow on the upper slopes. Zermatt, Saas Fee, Cervinia and the Espace Killy area (Tignes and Val D'Isere) are forecast to receive huge dumps of snow in the next week or so.

Early season snowfall was poor in Europe in the previous 2 seasons which was not ideal for those taking a ski holiday at Christmas. However, this year, people can book with confidence that they will get a White Christmas.

Kitzbuhel and Cervinia have opened already and Val Thorens is set to open 70% of its lifts this weekend. Chamonix is opening on 19th November and Courchevel will officially start the season on 10 December, This list by the Ski Club of Great Britain details all known opening dates for ski resorts across Europe plus selected resorts in Canada and the USA.
